Grow curious, confident minds at The British School of Geneva! Watch your child grow in a personalised, multilingual setting dedicated for 3 - 5 year-olds.
Our enhanced Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum from England is designed to nurture curious, confident minds. We focus on key areas of learning to build life skills and help our students reach their full potential
Love of reading and writing
At our school, we know that literacy should spark a love for reading and writing from the very start. Ever wondered how we do it? In the Early Years, children begin by reading simple sentences in their daily phonics classes, using new skills to decode and pronounce words accurately.
Through fun discussions, they explore stories and deepen their understanding of what they’ve read. When it’s time for writing, they build on their phonics to create simple, meaningful sentences. Interested to see how we make learning so engaging? Come and watch their literacy journey unfold!
Problem solving
In our approach to mathematics, children develop strong counting skills from 1 to 20, learning to sequence numbers and identify what comes before or after. Have you ever wondered how they use real-world objects to add and subtract? By counting forwards and backwards, they solve problems and tackle more advanced concepts like doubling, halving, and sharing. Plus, they use everyday language to compare size, weight, and time, building essential problem-solving skills.
Early Years language lessons focuses on developing communication, language, and literacy skills in children aged 3-5 through play-based and interactive activities. The curriculum emphasises listening, understanding, and speaking, encouraging children to express themselves clearly and respond to instructions.
Phonics instruction supports early reading and writing, with children exploring the sounds of letters and forming simple words. Play, storytelling, and role-play are central to these lessons, fostering creativity and collaboration while helping children develop fine motor skills and an appreciation for diverse cultural experiences.
Discover communities
Children love to share stories, whether they’re about their own adventures or their family’s experiences. Have you noticed how curious they are about the differences and similarities between people, families, and communities? They enjoy exploring the world around them—observing animals, plants, and objects, and asking why things happen the way they do.
Ever wondered how we encourage them to discover what makes their surroundings unique? From exploring nature to discussing changes they see, learning about the world becomes a fun and engaging adventure!
Explore the arts
Children love the joy of singing, making music, and expressing themselves through dance. Have you seen how they experiment with colours and textures during art sessions? Using different materials and tools, they explore their creativity in design and art. They also express their own ideas and feelings through role-play, storytelling, and creative arts.
At BSG we celebrate this artistic exploration, fostering a welcoming and inclusive community. Be prepared for artistic masterpieces coming home for admiration!

Our schools are clear about the knowledge and skills students need to succeed academically.
Beyond that, our schools are equipped with innovative curricula, a research-backed learning approach and high-impact assessment tools, all designed to deepen each student’s understanding. Continuous improvement is fundamental to ISP.
All our schools follow a learning improvement framework which monitors performance against selected criteria proven to best support student learning.
It helps us enhance our approach to have the greatest impact on students’ success.
We believe that there are some key life skills that all students need to thrive. These include everything from digital literacy to global awareness.
These skills prepare them to adapt to a rapidly changing world, make informed decisions, and build meaningful relationships, setting a strong foundation for lifelong success and fulfilment.
ISP students develop these skills over the course of their school years, through learning experiences inside and outside the classroom.
International learning is part of our schools’ DNA. Our students are encouraged to explore a range of world languages.
We ensure all our students can communicate and collaborate confidently in at least one world language (usually English, Mandarin, Arabic, Spanish or French), in addition to their home languages.
Every year, iSP students around the world take part in multicultural and multilingual experiences called International Learning Opportunities for Students (ILOS). Whether it’s becoming a United Nations delegate or directing a film, ILOSprogrammes open the world to every student.
Every ILOS experience encourages students to discover their true interests as they prepare to succeed in today’s global society.
